If you’re in the market for a new vehicle and want something stylish, sporty, advanced, and performance-driven, then turn your attention to the 2020 Honda Civic in Clear Lake. This Honda is a show stopper, but we aren’t just going to brag about how incredible it is. We want you to decide which vehicle is better for you and your summer adventure, and today the division is between the Civic and Toyota Yaris.
The power within this Honda is superior against the Yaris, as the Civic’s standard 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder engine produces an incredible 158 horsepower (vs. 106hp) and 35 lbs.-ft. more torque (138 vs. 103) than the Yaris’. When put to the test, Motor Trend was able to highlight the incredible speed of the Civic in comparison to the Yaris’ ability:
Everyone knows that with great power comes great responsibility, and Honda is well known for providing some of the safest vehicles on the market today. When compared to the Yaris, both cars share standard safety features like standard airbags, traction control, and crash mitigating brakes, but the Civic is anything but standard. Missing from the Yaris, are additional features like smart airbags that can automatically adjust force based on speed and passenger size, and an assistive lane departure warning system. The Civic Coupe, EX, EX-L, and Touring models also offer HondaLink Assist, which utilizes GPS and a cellular network to alert emergency personnel of your location if the airbags deploy in an accident. This feature is not available on the Yaris because it doesn’t have a GPS response system.
When looking into performance, the Civic goes above and beyond in this department because this Honda has fully independent front and rear suspensions, which allows the wheels to grip the pavement without compromising ride comfort. Along with this are front and rear stabilizer bars, speed-sensitive variable-assist power steering, and drift compensation steering. Together, all of these features provide a ride to remember within the Civic, but that ride is lost on the Yaris because it doesn’t offer any of them.
Adding convenience to your daily drive is another inspirational feature the CIvic hosts, because why should you have to worry about the little things like windows, headlights, and A/C? With the Civic, you can enjoy the standard remote vehicle starting system, which allows you to warm up the engine, activating the air conditioning to cool the interior during these hot summer months. When driving around, if you find the need to operate the front windows, you won’t have to worry about holding the switch to operate them fully. The Civic’s front power windows can open and close completely with a single touch, making it more convenient at toll booths and drive-up windows. To ensure that everyone in the cabin is comfortable, the EX, EX-L, and Touring models all come with dual-zone air conditioning, allowing the front driver and passenger to choose separate climates. Those in the back can enjoy these comforts too, as the Civic also has rear vents to keep everyone comfortable. The Yaris doesn’t offer a remote starting system, automatic windows, or dual-zone air conditioning.
