Setting the bar high for other sedans, the 2018 Honda Accord in Clear Lake is an icon reimagined. With next-generation features and designs, the Accord can handle anything your future might hold. When we compared it to the Ford Fusion, we found that it is more advanced in the following ways…
Better for the Environment and Your Family
You don’t have to drive a battery powered car to help protect the environment. The Honda Accord has an incredible fuel economy and a higher rating by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency than the Ford Fusion. This means that the Accord produces about eight pounds fewer smog pollutants than the Fusion every 15,000 miles. You’ll also save a pretty penny too because the Accord uses regular gasoline versus premium, which the Fusion requires for optimum performance.

Being a benefit for the environment is an incredible feature, but being able to protect your family better is the best. The Accord utilizes vehicle speed and seat sensors to deploy different levels of airbag force when there is an accident. This better protects passengers of different sizes, and the airbags will even turn off if it detects a child leaning against the door. The Fusion doesn’t have this airbag feature, so it deploys at full force.
Spacious and More Comfortable
With more space comes a more pleasant experience for everyone in the Accord, and having nearly three more cubic feet of passenger space than its competitor can make a huge difference. In fact, having more passenger and cargo room than the Fusion makes the Accord a large car rather than a mid-sized, as rated by EPA. Along with the added space, the Honda Accord comes standard with dual-zone air conditioning that allows the driver and front passenger to create their own perfect climate, so there’s no need to compromise. And with standard automatic temperature control, your chosen comfort level will be maintained by continually adjusting fan speed, vents, and the temperature. If you want these cooling features in the Fusion, you’ll have to pay extra for it except for the temp control, because the Fusion doesn’t even offer it.
The good times keep on rolling in the Accord with advanced technology taking the lead. Have your speed and other pivotal instrument readouts projected in front of your line of sight when driving, with the standard heads-up display. You’ll keep your eyes on the road while being aware of everything around you. When backing up, both rearview mirrors slightly tilt to give the driver a better curbside view when trying to parallel park, and once you shift out of reverse, the mirrors go back to their original position. Besides the incredibly convenient technology, the Accord will also benefit you economically more so than the Fusion, because it’s less expensive to maintain and repair over the years.
