New Year, New SUV - The 2019 Honda Pilot in Clear Lake

The New Year is almost here, so why not get a new SUV as well? We know you’ve been wanting to upgrade for a while now, so don’t wait a moment longer to discover the perfect Honda for you! To further convince you, we took the 2019 Honda Pilot in Clear Lake and compared it to the Dodge Durango so you could see which is best.

Engine Power and Fuel Economy

When you’re on the go, having a fast SUV can help in a multitude of ways. In a test conducted by Motor Trend, the Honda Pilot proved to be superior in speed against the Dodge Durango:

Quarter Mile

14.8 sec

16.1 sec

Speed in 1/4 Mile

93.2 MPH

On top of boasting incredible speed, the Pilot also has better fuel mileage and comes with a standard cap-less fueling system. This completely eliminates the need to mess with a gas cap and also reduces fuel evaporation that causes pollution. On top of reducing pollution, the Pilot also utilizes regular unleaded gasoline for optimum performance while the Durango’s V8 engine requires mid-grade gas for maximum efficiency, which can burn quite a hole in your wallet.

Suspension and Handling

If you prefer a vehicle with more stability and control, then look no further than the Pilot. With front and rear stabilizer bars as a standard, this SUV can stay flat against the road and offer incredible control when cornering. The suspension system in the Durango only has a rear stabilizer bar, so it’s not as stable as the Pilot. This incredible SUV also offers an optional drift compensation steering to reduce excess side to side movement. This will keep you on the straight and narrow more easily, but not if you choose the Durango. This system is not offered on the Dodge.

Passenger Space and Interior Amenities

More seating means more family to take on your next adventure. You’ll be able to fit eight passengers in the Pilot while the Durango can only hold seven, and on top of that, they’ll also have more room; 12.6 more cubic feet of space to be exact. For even more comfort, the middle and third-row seats of the Pilot also recline so everyone can catch some z’s comfortably on the open road. When everyone is too wired to sleep, keep them entertained with podcasts and audiobooks from the Pilot’s Apple CarPlay™ or the Rear Entertainment System to watch their favorite movies on DVD and Blu-ray™ Discs.
