A Better Hybrid for a Better Future - The 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid in Clear Lake vs. Toyota Avalon

Hybrid vehicles help protect our future for a cleaner, brighter world, but that doesn’t mean all hybrids are equally impressive. The 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid in Clear Lake blows the competition out of the water, specifically the Toyota Avalon, and that’s not a matter of opinion. Keep reading to learn how Honda’s Hybrid is stepping up the eco-friendliness game while other makes and models fall behind.

Fuel Economy...Obviously

We can’t entice you with a Hybrid without talking about its most popular feature, which is obviously fuel efficiency. The normal range for a Hybrid is around 43 city and 44 highway MPG, and usually people would be okay with that, until they learn that the Accord Hybrid has a fuel efficiency of 48 city and highway MPG*! That’s more than just a couple of miles difference, and the Accord even goes a step further with its cap-less fueling system. While the high MPG will reduce the need for frequent fill-ups, this fueling system reduces fuel evaporation all together, which is a major contributing factor to pollution! The Avalon Hybrid doesn’t have this pollution reducing feature, so it can only brag about its “good” fuel economy...which isn’t even something worth bragging about when compared to the Accord.

Above Average Standard Safety

Besides having standard airbags, the Accord Hybrid houses smart airbags that utilize sensors to deploy at different levels of force, and sometimes won’t deploy at all! This better protects passengers of different sizes depending on the type of collision. Whenever the sensors detect a child leaning against the door, the airbags will shut off entirely. When you start driving, if you find yourself getting distracted from fatigue, the Accord’s driver alert monitor can detect this and will give off a warning sound suggesting a break. This is huge because according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths per year are caused by drivers who fall asleep. The Accord Hybrid helps you from becoming apart of that statistic.

A Better Ride for a Better Day

The Accord’s suspension system keeps you in mind when it comes to comfort with its driver-adjustable system. This allows you to choose your preferred setting whether you want an extra-supple ride for more support or sport for more control of the road. One thing you won’t have to decide is the drift compensation steering which comes standard. This automatically kicks in to compensate for dangerous road conditions, giving you more control and making it easier to stay in a straight line. The Avalon doesn’t offer either of these features, making it less personable than the Accord.
