2018 Honda CR-V For Sale in Webster

2018 Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V is the second biggest-selling SUV in the entire world, and it's been vying for the top spot for as long as most of us care to remember. Of course, a vehicle of any type doesn’t get to be and stay that popular by chance, so let's take a look at the 2018 Honda CR-V to see what all the fuss is about.

.

Styling

There are definitely more striking crossovers in the market right now, but the CR-V still isn't a model sitting anonymously in the middle of the homogenous crowd of SUV design by any means. From the side view the CR-V is pretty standard crossover fare, but from the front, and to a lesser extent the rear, it really couldn’t be anything other than a Honda. Apart from the alloy wheels, it's pretty much impossible to tell the trim levels apart, which is probably a welcome attribute for many buyers, but perhaps not so much for those who like things to get a bit flashier and blingy at higher trim levels. It's modern and stylish, but without being polarizing in any way, which could go some way to explaining the incredible and enduring popularity of this model.

.

Powertrain

There are two engines available in the current CR-V, although the base engine is only to be found in the entry level LX trim level. That unit is a perfectly likeable 2.4-liter inline-four, which is rated at 184 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque, and which sends the power to the front or all four wheels through a standard CVT transmission. The rest of the lineup gets a 1.5-liter turbo-four, which then gets you 190 horsepower and 179 lb.-ft. of torque that doesn’t sound like a lot more than the other engine, but the power is available from a lot lower down in the rev range. The turbo engine is a little smother than the 2.4 in the LX, and it also works particularly well with that CVT transmission.

.

Interior comfort and quality

Honda is remarkably adept at making the absolute most of the available space inside a vehicle, and the 2018 CR-V is certainly no exception. Although it may technically be a compact crossover, sitting inside the CR-V you could easily take it for a midsize. The standard fabric upholstery is durable but high quality, while the available leather is surprisingly upscale for the kind of money Honda asks for the CR-V. There's a decent amount of legroom for adults in the outboard second-row seats, and although a little tight, there's definitely room for a third person in the middle. And if you like plenty of places to store things, you'll find all the cubbies and storage spaces you’re likely to need and more in here.

.

Features and equipment

Buyers have four trim levels to choose from, and all four are available with standard front-wheel drive or the option of all-wheel drive. The base model comes pretty well-equipped for the price, with standard kit including: 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera. Go up just one trim level to the EX and you then add the likes of: heated front seats, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, keyless ignition, a 12-way power driver’s seat, a power moonroof, an additional USB input, and the full Honda Sensing suite of collision-avoidance technologies.
